Here is the schedule:
Here is the “Wine by the Class” schedule:
Oct. 1 “How to be a Wine Snob” with Liz
Join us for an evening with our own certified wine expert and wine snob, Liz K. She’ll cover the basics of wine tasting as if she was prepping you for taking the exams yourself. And from her years of experience, she’ll part with lesser-known approaches to tasting that you won’t get anywhere else. Think of this session as the most fun test prep course you could ever take!
Oct. 8 “Cloning Around” with Rob Russell (and Corey)
Have you eaten wine grapes? Want to? Tasting grapes often generates surprising reactions as the grapes often don’t taste similar to the end product. Sometimes they do. Join us for a night of tasting, grape eating and education with Rob Russell, the member of the Russell family who grows all the grapes. From what happens in the vineyard to discussion about varietals, clones and just how revolutionary it is to grow grapes in Massachusetts. Rob doesn’t get out of the Vineyard very often so this is a great chance to get some incredible insight AND do something that is rarely offered by a winery.
Oct. 15 “Cloning Around” with Rob Russell (and Liz)
Just in case you missed last week’s class, we’re doing it again. Rob Russell will will be taking time out of harvest to chat with us about what exactly happens in the vineyard, and he won’t be empty handed. Because it’s harvest season, the grapes are ripe. And so, we’ll be eating some of them while tasting some wine. What can go wrong?
Oct. 22 “Boo-lind Tasting” with Corey
You’ve heard about the studies. We — humans — think more expensive wine tastes better and can’t taste the difference between white and red wines. Are you like everyone else or are you that good? Have a little fun in this class with the spooky art of blind tasting, science and Westport Rivers wines.
Oct. 29 “How to be a wine snob” with Liz
You can never study enough! In the name of thoroughness, Liz K. will be covering the basic rubric of how to impress your friends and loved ones with your wine prowess. Fresh from becoming certified herself, Liz will be covering the basics of wine tasting and other not-so-well-known aspects. Get to know Westport Rivers wines in ways you didn’t expect!
Please call 508-636-3423 extension 2 to secure your spot.
