It’s busy at Westport Rivers. Here is what we have going on:
Wines by the Class: The Learning Methode:
We are hosting “Wines by the Class” in our Wine Bar. These casual seminars will begin at 6pm and last an hour or two and will highlight a wine, wine making or vineyard related topic and will always include an informative wine tasting.
Our amazing staff led by aficionados Corey Nuffer and Elizabeth Koczera will be your “guides” for these evenings. We will also have some additional surprises for attendees. These seminars are only $10 for wine club members and $20 for non-members.
Here are all the details:
There is NO charge to swing by the Wine Bar during the Friday seminars and enjoy a drink with friends. You might even learn something. However, if you want to participate in the class (and taste wine and receive any seminar discounts on wine) it is $10 for wine club members and $20 for everyone else. All you have to do is call 508-636-3423 extension 2 during business hours and we will get you on the list. Just let the staff know when you would like to attend. Once you have signed up there are no cancellations so please make sure you are able to attend. If you have any questions please email: firstname.lastname@example.org. Saturdays are free to everyone.
Saturday, January 17th: “Wine + Trivia Night” Like trivia nights at bars but about wine and Massachusetts. This will be a lot of fun and rumor has it that Wine Club Manager Alan Stewart is putting together a special prize package for the winner!!
Friday January, 23rd: “Women Wild About Wine” This class is for the ladies and people who love the ladies. Yes, we’ll cover what we covered with the boys, but we’ll have more fun.
Saturday January 24th: “Wine + Book Club Night” Local author Karen Covey will be at the vineyard to talk about her book, “The Coastal Table.” Many of you have picked this cookbook up at the winery retail store and enjoyed it. We’ll sample local foods featured in her book with our own local wines. She’ll also be fielding questions about her new magazine by the same name. Get your questions ready and come hungry! This is a very special night!
Friday January 30th: “Luxury Vermouth Tasting and Seminar with Paull Goodchild” Did you know that Vermouth actually tastes good enough to drink by itself? Did you know Vermouth and wine making go hand in hand? Our own winemaker, Paull Goodchild, will be on hand to discuss our Vermouth and walk us through a tasting of each of our three offerings. Paull is incredibly knowledgeable and always offers great insight into how WPR wines are made.
Saturday, January 31st. “Wine + Art Night”. Called “art journaling,” this mixed media approach to creativity will involve text and image. Bring your own magazine clip outs, photographs and text (a poem, lines of dialogue, etc) or use what we have on hand. This special class is limited to the first 15 people who email email@example.com indicating they would like to attend so EMAIL NOW!
Please call 508-636-3423 extension 2 to secure your spot.

SPECIAL EVENT: Amazing Jazz in the Wine Bar for Valentines Day
The ESP Vocal Trio will perform at 6pm on Friday February 13th.
The trio has been delighting Boston audiences for nearly 10 years, having just released their debut CD “They All Laughed”. The title track is the much-loved Gershwin tune, arranged by their uber-talented pianist, producer and Berklee College of Music faculty member Mark Shilansky. ESP features the diverse talents of Emily Browder, Sandi Hammond, and Patrice Williamson, combined to form a dazzling female vocal trio which delivers original songs and compelling new arrangements of familiar and lesser-known jazz tunes. The trio has captivated audiences at the Regatta Bar, Ryles, WGBH radio with Eric Jackson, Johnny D’s, the Acton Jazz Cafe, and other venues in the Boston area with their sensuous blend and savvy musicality…
We’re happy to welcome ESP for their first South Coast show! February 13th’s performance will be a Valentine’s-themed evening, filled with love songs like “Come Rain or Come Shine” and “My Funny Valentine”. Bring your sweetie or anyone else you hold dear and kick off the weekend with this fun, jazz-influenced group and wine! CD’s will be on sale with a portion of the proceeds going to benefit the SouthCoast Children’s Chorus.
